About The Author

Cherie Bacon Byrne was born and reared on Dublin’s north side of the city.

Cherie’s previous working background prior to having Raven was predominately in social care.

Cherie worked for six years in various social care settings, mostly as a high support youth worker.

She worked with young people in residential care units and young persons in out of home placements & was highly respected amongst her peers.

Cherie was also a youth advocate trainer ,on the west coast of Ireland.

Cherie soon found her niche was working with young mothers and their babies. Mentoring her clients and guiding them in caring for their babies and how to manage everyday living as new mums, was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for her.

Cherie also worked in mother and baby units and did outreach work.

Cherie also conducted supervised access visits with clients and their families.

In 2011 she married her husband Lee and they decided to have a baby together.

Cherie had been already a mother of two teenage children.

On the 20th of November 2012, Raven Juliet Bacon Byrne came into their lives and the mayhem began.

The battle to find a diagnosis and to be able to alleviate the obvious pain, Raven was in was well and truly under way.

The lack of understanding of not only the professionals involved in Ravens early years, but also from family and friends, was a very isolating experience.

The non-existent support regarding this disease and the negative impact it had on Cherie and her family, inspired her to write her book -

The Reflux Bible.
